AEK Athens vs Brighton Prediction

Brighton have a chance to lock their place in the knockout phase of the UEFA Europa League on Thursday evening when they visit Greek capital to take on AEK Athens in Gameweek 5 at OPAP Arena.

The Seagulls earned two massive wins in a double-header against Ajax to move to second place in Group B standings. They now sit a point behind leaders Marseille and three points above AEK in third place.

Brighton finally ended their winless thread in English Premier League at the weekend, beating Nottingham Forest 3-2 on the road in a very intense matchup packed with drama, goals, yellow and red cards.

Head coach Roberto De Zerbi still has big issues with sidelined players, primarily on the left-back position as Pervis Estupinan is still unavailable through injury.

AEK, on the other side, have picked up just one point in three Europa League games since claiming a big win on the opening day in Brighton.

The Greeks lost twice to Marseille in the previous two rounds and now need a win over the English opponents to stay in contention for the knockout phase of the competition.

The lack of defensive meticulousness has been a big problem for Matias Almeyda’s troops as AEK shipped eight goals in the inaugural four Europa League affairs.

They did manage four wins and a draw in the previous five domestic league outings but still sit third in the table, one point behind leaders Panathinaikos.

Ele foi titular na partida e disputou 90 minutos no empate sem gols com a seleção sul-americana.

Joel Veltman representou a Oranje na Copa do Mundo FIFA 2014 no Brasil. É importante destacar que o zagueiro holandês fez 34 jogos no campeonato pelo Ajax na campanha da Eredivisie 2015/2016, marcando um gol no processo. Na temporada 2013/2014 conquistou seu segundo troféu da Eredivisie com o Ajax.
